DIY MOVIE NIGHT

'DIY (Do It Yourself) is all about making things happen with what you’ve got—no big budgets, just your own creativity, passion, and the drive to bring your vision to life.

DIY Movie Night is a celebration of that independent spirit. We spotlight ski and snowboard films made by talented riders and filmmakers who are building their way into the scene on their own terms.

IN CASE YOU END UP WINNING!

Read the PRIZE ACCEPTANCE TERMS

    • The prize you win is a production fund to help kick off your next film project. While we know our fund isn’t a massive budget, it's a starting point—and with the right planning, amazing things are possible.

    • To keep things fair and transparent, we just ask you to share a clear plan for how you’ll use the money for the project — this helps make sure it really supports your future creative work. For example, you might want to use it to cover filming trip costs, buy a new lens for a camera or invest in editing software that help you make your next project.

    • You let us know when you’re planning to start the new project, and we’ll align everything around it. If there’s a delay, no worries—we’ve got your back.

    • We’d love to screen your new film at Arctic Weekend and share some clips to promote the event. If anyone else wants to use the footage, we’ll sort that out with you separately.

    • You keep full rights to your footage—it’s your work. We only ask that you include the Arctic Weekend logo or mention the event in your new project. You can do this in a way that fits your film’s vibe and style—for example, by adding a mention in the end credits.

    • Prize money will be paid out within 30 days of the announcement of the winners.
This gives us enough time to get everything processed and into your hands so you can start working your next project! During this time, we’ll make a plan for how Arctic Weekend can support you—whether that’s through mentorship, connections, or helping you take the next steps toward your new film.

We’ve set things up this way because the winning fund is meant to build momentum for you, your crew, the community, and the culture.
