FILMS

From freeride adventures to freestyle creativity, the film selection celebrates the joy of gliding on snow and how our lifestyle and passions connect both on and off the mountains. This year we’ve added some powerful documentaries to the line-up — and there will be a few more additions announced soon.

Explore and learn more about each film:

The films are divided into four categories:

  • Documentary – in-depth stories that inform, inspire, and create impact

  • Freeride / Outdoor – big mountains, deep powder, and life in the outdoors

  • Freestyle – style, tricks, and the energy of park and street riding

  • Artistic – creative and experimental takes on snow culture and filmmaking

DOCUMENTARY

  • Butterfly in a Blizzard offers a deeply personal look into professional snowboarder Kimmy Fasani’s journey into motherhood, exploring how this new phase reshapes her past. Fasani and her family open all of the doors to capture her transformation from a globe-trotting winter sports icon to mom, while delving into the newly coined term matrescence.

Experts in maternal health, with one calling it “the biggest story never told,” highlight this rarely explored time in a parent’s life. Throughout the film, Fasani faces repeated “blizzards” in her life, including identity shifts, childhood trauma, relationship struggles, and a breast cancer diagnosis.

Over five years, raw and intimate footage reveals Fasani’s evolution as she navigates these storms. Join the ride as she works to maintain her place in snowboarding while striving to become the mother she aspires to be, shedding light on the complex balance of passion, career, and parenthood.

  • A documentary about the 90s snowboard boom – and what came after.

They lived the dream together in the 90s and have stayed close ever since.

Snowboard legends Ingemar Backman, Johan Olofsson, and Jacob Söderqvist still share the same passion and friendship, long after the spotlight faded.

From DIY beginnings to a multimillion-dollar industry almost overnight, snowboarding’s golden age created stars, trends, and unforgettable memories.

    – I remember pinching myself, thinking: this is happening now. It won’t last forever. A normal life will follow, says Jacob Söderqvist.

This is the story of what happens when the love for riding never fades.

We’ll Never Quit is about friendship, dreams, and following your heart – wherever life takes you.

  • A project about melting glaciers and their impact on everything downstream. Produced by Protect Our Winters with support from Icebreaker and VF Foundation.

FREERIDE / OUTDOOR

  • Two veteran professional skiers, hardened and seasoned by tragedy in the mountains seek a rekindling of their aggressive approach to steep terrain by venturing to Norway’s Lyngen Alps with a fearless young phenom - only to find that the mountains have much more to teach them all about risk, reckoning and the thin line between glory and grief.

Cinematography by: Bjarne Salen, Joonas Mattila

  • The Pinnacle Of Skiing follows Nikolai Schirmer as he chases a pinnacle in The Lyngen Alps with friends. A stunning rock formation, but also the very specific conditions that allow for it to be ridden.

    Filming: Vetle Selvid, Joonas Mattila

  • A gravel bike, a splitboard strapped to the frame, and a tent with other gear packed in the bags — the freedom to move at your own pace, live simply, and let the weather decide the rest.

This was the plan of Henna Palosaari and Karen Ekman when they set off last spring to go freeriding in Sunnmøre, Southern Norway.

The area was already familiar to them, but this time they wanted to experience it in a new way.

The film Ride to Ride documents their ten-day adventure on Norway’s west coast — a journey that led them to invent the word suffer-puffer, showed what happens when physical exhaustion quiets the mind, and reminded them of the simple joy that life and movement in the mountains can bring.

    Riders: Henna Palosaari, Karen Ekman

Filming: Joonas Mattila and Mikko-Pekka Karlin

  • Three strangers meet in the mountains – with only one day to film, conditions force them to question the entire plan. A persistent weak layer and warming temperatures raise the ultimate question: who do you trust by your side when your life is on the line?

    director / producer: Jussa Loueniva
    Cinematography: Markus Kumpula
    Editor: Alisa Nolte
Riders: Sini Koivunen, Petteri Salo, Jussa Loueniva

  • Skier Ville Vuori sets out to explore and ski amazing new spots.
From the majestic peaks of Switzerland to the familiar slopes of Norway in spring, he shares the journey with old friends and new faces alike.

Chasing the lines captures the thrill of the ride, the beauty of the mountains, and the stories of a winter well-lived.

  • A witty, bittersweet reflection on office life versus the Instagram-perfect mountain lifestyle. Through dry humor and sharp observation, the piece draws parallels between these worlds: the office’s mid-morning cake break versus après-ski, crowded supermarkets versus crowded ski cafés, routine deadlines versus routine descents. Both offer moments of joy, frustration, and the quiet satisfaction of small achievements—whether that’s skiing a clean line or heating up lunch in the microwave.

In the end, the question remains: maybe “freedom” isn’t about the scenery at all.

Skiers: Jan-Erik Blomberg, Jani Hujanen, Erik Farnesi von Hofsten

    Filming & Editing: Jan-Erik Blomberg

  • In Cold Blood is an intimate mountain film told through the inner voice of a rider torn between fear and obsession.

As he moves between high-stakes competitions and raw backcountry adventures, we witness a search for balance between adrenaline and family, ambition and peace.

No interviews, no showboating—just one man’s honest dialogue with the mountains.

A visual and emotional journey into what truly drives us. In the end, it’s not about the best ride—it’s about feeling fully alive.

    Featuring: Victor De Le Rue
    Directed by: Alex Heitler

  • Our second street snowboarding video together with filmer Arttu Heikkinen

While filming for our previous project ”Shift” we had a great and snowy winter.

    This season was quite different:

  • The Faction Collective pulls into Sugar Bowl, California, in search of the sweet highs of an all-star freestyle session.

It dials into everything the brand community loves about freestyle skiing.

  • Pyhä Magic Montage is a 16 mm film capturing the spirit of Pyhätunturi fell, nestled deep in the heart of Finnish Lapland, and the friends who return to their beloved mountain year after year as the season’s first snowflakes begin to fall.

Bound by a shared passion for snow and riding, these friends come together to tell the story of their fell. A place that lives in their hearts no matter where spring might lead them.
